Her words, not mine. The work says otherwise — there’s plenty of wit in it, you just have to look up at 3am to find it.

[Placeholder bio — replace with Lisa’s own words.] Lisa works across two disciplines that most people keep apart: the slow, physical craft of paint, charcoal and clay, and the patient, light-chasing craft of the camera. One is made by hand in the studio; the other is found out in the dark, or across a portrait sitter’s face.

What links them is attention. Whether it’s the galactic core rising over a ridge line, an old dog’s grey muzzle, or a layer of oil dragged across a board, she’s after the same thing — the moment a subject stops performing and simply is.

Based in Australia, working on commission and for exhibition.
